WilliamForsythe byDominikMentzos American Dance Festival Week 3: Hubbard Street and Monica Bill BarnesThe 2012 Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award for Lifetime Achievement will be presented to acclaimed choreographer William Forsythe by Jill Johnson on June 30th prior to the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago performance at DPAC. The company will perform Forsythe?s 1993 work, Quintett. The Award carries a $50,000 prize and is given yearly to a choreographer who has made a significant contribution to the field of modern dance.

The ADF is proud to announce the opening of the Samuel H. Scripps Studios,which marks the first time in 79 years that the ADF will own space and be able to provide year-round programming at its own facilities!

SHEN WEI DANCE ARTS

The NCMA and the ADF are soon to present one of the most extraordinary arts events in the history of our two institutions. Beginning Tuesday evening, July 17, and running through Thursday, July 19, Shen Wei Dance Arts performs its 45-minute masterwork?Undivided Divided?in the galleries of the Museum?s new West Building.

Please join us, as well as Shen Wei and the performers, for a?champagne reception following an exclusive opening night performance on July 17 at 7pm.?Tickets are $150,?Limited Availability.

Performances on Wednesday, July 18, and Thursday, July 19, occur at 7pm and 9pm, same program. Wine and beer will be available for purchase before and after the 7pm performances and before the 9pm performances in the beautiful, outdoor courtyard at the entrance of the new West Building.
